A day many long feared has arrived. A day when the right to a safe abortion is no longer guaranteed across our country. We urgently need your support to protect reproductive health, rights, and justice in a post-Roe era. The U.S. healthcare system already has a stark divide between those who are able to access quality reproductive health care and those who cannot. Last week’s SCOTUS decision will only widen that divide. In states like California, where abortion remains legal, we must be prepared to meet an expected 3000% increase in demand for services.

There are many ways in which you can demonstrate your support, including donating to on-the-ground organizations that provide abortion funds to help people access the care they need and voting to support the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) and the EACH Act.

Today we are asking you to support The UCLA Bixby Center on Population and Reproductive Health at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. We are actively involved in research, practice, and advocacy efforts to support those most affected by this grievous decision. Your support is critical to efforts like these:

  • Training the next generation of reproductive health scholars in research, advocacy, and evidence-based practices

  • Establishing the safety, efficacy, and patient experience of UCLA patients receiving medication abortion via telemedicine

  • Documenting abortion volume, characteristics and experiences of out-of-state abortion refugees as they seek care at California facilities

  • Streamlining referral systems to minimize delays for abortion care-seeking in Los Angeles and Southern California

Thank you for your support! For more details on our research and ways to demonstrate your support for reproductive rights and safe abortion access and care please visit our website.
